When in the midst of conflict, all those great tools, communication skills, and rules for fighting fair fly right out the window. What do we do then?
As a very young child I experienced a profound sense of being unloved. The adults around me were deeply wounded and severely lacking any ability to express love.Spirit reached out to me at 13 and showed me the truth of the power of love; that God is love, and there is NO lack of love – in spite ofall evidence to the contrary. Love simply is; as ever present as the air we breathe. Everything that exists is evidence of God’s Love in action.
Compassion is the ability to express and practice God’s Love even when we cannot easily comprehend the love that is in a particular person or situation.
It starts with ourselves.

After reading your debt busters profile on CNN, I find it deeply disturbing that you are a counsellor, and especialy offensive that you offer ethics training. You knowingly put yourself into debt and then defaulted, effectively making others pay for whatever it was you wasted the money on. But I think the real truth is that you are a publicity hound faker, taking advantage of the gullible people stupid enough to fall for your “Compassion Movement” scam. The only “movement” is the movement of money from their purses to yours.
I double-dare you to reply to this post right here on your blog, instead of just deleting it. Replying would be the ethical thing to do.

I fully understand your dismay since you think I “knowingly put (my)self into debt and then defaulted, effectively making others pay for whatever it was you wasted the money on.” That would certainly be a despicable way to behave. I am not sure how you got that idea from the article on CNN. What I (and my husband) did was to in earnest attempt to start a business. We both had good income at the time and expected it to continue. As most people do we struggled to keep up the payments even when we had lost the majority of our income. Then, when we could no longer keep up with the exorbitant interest rates we were being charged, and our payments became more than our income we had no choice but to default. But, we did not simply ignore the debt. We worked with the credit agencies to come to a mutually agreeable settlement amount. We settled all our debts amicably and the credit agencies were satisfied with the arrangement. We did what all failed businesses do, which is to settle our debts. I do have compassion for your angst and anger since it seemed to you I had simply walked away from “knowingly put(ting) (my)self in debt”. Like any business, I did what I could to make it work and then resolved the debt in accordance to my creditors acceptance.
